100A - 120A & 200A heavy duty relays 12V

£11.50

These are all large 45x45x58mm heavy duty relays.

A relay is a device that allows you to switch a large amp load remotely using a very small voltage. All these relays only need 12V and about 10W to switch their very large ampage.

These relays are used to switch on and off things like winches, engine heater plugs, inverters, space heaters, cooling systems, high output bilge pumps.

Wiring:

There are two 6.3mm male spade connectors and two heavy duty 8mm brass poles.

The brass poles go from the battery (or a thick battry lead) directly to the load. Make sure that you are using wire that is large enough to take the load and avoid voltage drop over the length of the run.

The spade connectors. One - most people use the 85 pin. Runs from the switch that you are using lets say a float switch in a bilge system. The other pin (86) runs to negative.

When the float switch is activated by water in the bilge, a small voltage (12v) runs to the relay which switches the large ampage.

When the water is gone the float switch will go off and the relay is switched off.

The two side of the relay are not connected so a 12v relay can switch a 24v winch at 100A

A relay is not a fuse so choose a value that is a little above the needs of your devive.
