Engine and Tank Sensors


This is our gauge only sensor. 

There is a 1/8 NTP thread to connect to the engine.

Negative is through the sensor body (thread) as it screws into the engine.

Wiring is through a 4mm pole connector with a finger tightened nut.

Output range is 0 to 10 Bar


This oil pressure sensor is for 10/5 Bar oil Pressure gauges and a low oil pressure warning light and or buzzer.

The sensor is for 12v or 24v gauges and is negative through body with a 1/8 NTP or 1/8 BSP or 10mm thread. If you need any other size please look at our range of sensor thread converters.

The wiring of the sensor is through two pole connectors:

The pole maked 'G' is for a 10/5 bar oil pressure gauge.

The pole marked 'WK' is for your low oil pressure light and or buzzer. This switch will operate at any pressure below 0.3 Bar

 

This is a VDO insulated return Oil Pressure gauge. This 3/8NTP sensor is wired either with two 6.3mm spade connectors or two 4mm ring connectors. One for the gauge feed which is marked 'G'.

Dimentions are:

Overall length 85mm . Thread length 12mm

These are electronic oil pressure sensors. They will work with any 10Bar or 30Bar oil pressure gauge. The 10Bar gauges are tipicaly used on engines and 30Bar on gearboxs.

Being electronic the sensors are much smaller than the mechanical types. The sensor is

22mm diameter, 22mm Nut size, 52mm overall length, 10mm thread length and 1/8NTP thread size 1/8BSP avaliable.

Being electronic the sensor needs wiring :

Red power 9 to 36 volt

Black Negative

Green Signal (0.5 to 4.5 volts)

The sensor comes with its own waterproof plug and pigtail.

This is a sensor kit for a electronic vacuume gauge.

The kit consists of :

Electronic sensor to convert the vacume into a electronic signal that the gauge can use.

In line air filter

Vacuume tube 'T' piece

Vacume tube

Fitting. The 'T' fitting is inserted into the engine vacuume line and the vacume tube is fitted. The inline air filter is placed into the vacuume tube line. The electronic sensor is placed away from the engine heat and vibration. The electronic sensor is wired with a positive (Red) and Negative (Black) and the white wire is the signal wire going to the gauge.

This is our gauge only, negative return, water temp sensor.

The sensor is for the water temp range of 40C to 120C and engines that need a isolated return for negative.

The thread sizr is 1/8 NTP. For customers that need different thread sizes please see our range of thread converters.

The wiring for this sensor is :

Red wire is the feed FROM YOUR GAUGE

Black wire is Negative return

This is our exhaust gas temperature sensor. The gas will be at between 420C and 500C depending how much coolant water is being injected into the exhaust system.

The probe length is 70mm including thread length. This can be reduced by sliding the two nuts down the probe and then pinching up the brass olive.

The wiring is red for feed from the gauge and black for negative.

These are VDO 1/8 either NTP or BSP water temp GAUGE sensors.

They are 67mm length overall. Sensor length is 19mm. Thread length is 14mm.

The connector is 6.3mm female spade connection

These are Volvo Penta deluxe panel twin sensors. This single sensor will run your temp gauge and your warning lights and buzzers.

Volvo Penta used two sizes of sensor thread. Most 18mm some are 16mm. Both alarm at 96C and the gauge part is set up for 40C to 120C gauges.

M18*1.5 thread:

Overall length 80.. Thread length 18mm. Gauge part sensor 16mm. Warning part sensor 10mm

M16*1.5 thread:

Overall length 80mm. Thread length 12mm . Gauge part sensor 20 . Warning part sensor 10mm .

For both sensors the waring is :

Gauge part is marked 'G'

Warning part is marked 'W'

Both male spades are 6.3mm type

These are negative through body twin sensors for water temp gauges and warning light/buzzer.

Each has twin male spade connectors marked 'G' for the gage and 'W' for the warning. Each of them will alarm at 96C

Each will work with all common types of gauges and all warning devices.

This is our M14 x 1.5 mm twin water temp sensor.

This sensor will run both a temp gauge and warning lights/buzzers.

The dimentions are:

These VDO sensors are designed to work with Oil Temp gauges or presurised water temp gauges. They have a range of 40C to 120C and will alarm at 103C.

The sensor dimentions are:

Overall length 80mm. Thread length 15mm. Gauge sensor length 15mm. Warning sensor length 8mm.

Wiring is through two male 6.3mm male connections.

This is our VDO 3/8 inch NTP insulated return water temp sensor.

The sensor dimention are:

Overall length 60mm. Thread length 13mm. Sensor length 15mm.

Wiring is through two 6.3mm male spade connectors. One marked 'G' for the gauge feed and the other for the negative return.

These are our M14 and M16 water temp gauge sensors.

The sensor dimentions are:

These sensors are often known as the warning light switch. 

This temp sensor will do nothing until the water temp gets to 100C then it will open and the warning lights / buzzers will go off.

You must replace these sensors every three years, if these sensors fail in service you will never know until your engine overheats!

The 1/8 NTP sensor can be used with any of our thread converter bushes to make the correct size for your engine.

All these sensors are negative through body so go very easy with the PTFE tape as that will stop them working.

These are our LOW OIL PRESSURE warning light/buzzer sensor switches.

These switches are on when the oil pressure is below 0.4 bar and off over that pressure.

These sensors will work with any make of engine and any warning system. Use our sensor bush colletion to convert the 1/8 NTP sensor to the size required by your engine.

These are universal, stainless steel, insulated return fluid sensors.

They will work with fresh water, fuel of any type, grey water.

They will work in steel, stainless steel or plastic tanks.

They will work with 12v or 24v systems.

They will work with any 0 to 190 ohms gauge. This is the UK - Euro standard. They will not work with the USA standard.

These sensors are C3 standard so have a BSP 1-1/4 one inch and one quarter thread which is 10mm long and has a rubber 'O' ring type seal to the tank. These sensors must be mounted in the top of the tank. The sensor size chosen should leave a minimum of 20mm gap at the bottom of the tank. The sensor can be mounted within a baffle plate system that allows flow at the bottom and top.

All the sensors will regardless of size work with fuel or water gauges that are 0 to 190 ohms.

These are bilge pump or water level warning float switches. They can be used as a bilgepump / bilge system relay switch 5A max. Or as a bilge / fluid level warning device.

There are vertical and horizontal mounting rightangle float switches. Most have 10mm movment to activate the long reach have 30mm to activate.

Most have a 10 - 13 mm mounting hole and are 58mm to 70mm tall.

These are simple in line float switches and can be wired either in the live or negative return side of the system.

This is a tachometer sensor. It is used to detect the movment of a engine flywheel or propshaft. 

A magnet is attached to the flywheel or propshaft and the sensor is fixed in position 5mm away from the magnet as it turns. Each time the mignet passes the sensor a flat line pulse is generated and sent to the tachometer.

Wiring:

The sensor needs a 12v positive feed. a negative feed and there is a third wire to connect to the tacho.

These bushes all convert a 1/8 NTP oil pressure sensor or water temp sensor to other NTP sizes 1/4NTP, 3/8NTP or 1/2NTP

These thread converters have been made to help Volvo Penta engine owners convert the hard to find 18mm volvo penta sensor in to a more common 1/4 NTP or (using a sencond converter) into the universal size of 1/8NTP.

This is a set of bushes that will allow you to convert a 1/8NTP sensor to a range of BSP sizes. As you can see you may need two of the bushes to get the end thread size that you need
